THE FAMILY, pt. 2

6:28 AM

One evening, we all went to the Toledo Club to look at their Christmas trees that organizations in the community donate {and go to dinner}.  The trees are all created for a specific charity, and then they have biddings for the tree {& then the proceeds go directly to that charity}.

For New Years, we went out to dinner at one of my favorites, J. Alexanders.  Since there was a 2 hour wait, we decided to drive around to kill time.  In the process, we noticed that Q.Zar {my childhood favorite past time...laser tag!} was open.  We went and played a round right before they closed with a bunch of 10 year olds.  It was AWESOME!  Our team conquered and I came out #9 out of 25.  Not too shabby.

After dinner, my dad carried out his tradition of putting on a fireworks show.  My parents just barely sold their house, and in the process of building a new one, are renting.  We were a little nervous to still do the fireworks since we don't know our neighbors {our old cul de sac LOVED it} and it's not exactly legal.  We did it anyway, and the kiddos who were out their banging on pots and pans were the cutest and were cheering the whole time.  Here's a video of one of the boxes:

Happy 2013, everyone!  And that's a wrap to my marathon postS of Christmas break!
